Here is the news from Biddulph Bowling & Recreational Club....

Bill Jolley was appointed our Head Coach and along with 5 other coaches, all are ready and willing to provide coaching to all. Congratulations go to Martin McGregor who has recently sucessfully completed his coaching course and has joined the team.

Coaching can be either at the Club’s own premises or other venues and can be a one to one basis for adults and the coaches are also available to provide classes for youngsters.

The Club currently host weekly sessions to pupils from the local Woodhouse Academy and several pupils joined the Club and formed a Junior Team. Such was the interest and standard of the youngsters, that this has now been increased to three teams, all playing in the local Junior League. Taster sessions have also been enjoyed by two local Brownie packs.

The Club’s Crown Green is an artificial all-weather green, so it is open throughout the year and Round Robin events are take during the wintear season, which are open to all, not just members.

Membership is available for Annual (£60), Summer (£47) or Winter (40), with an Indoor Membership (15), which excludes any outdoor bowling.

The Club also have an Indoor Short Mat for Bowling and now have 2 teams in the local League. Table Tennis is another sport offered by the club on their own table and pupils from the local Woodhouse Academy attend weekly session, coached by a Table Tennis England qualified Coach.

The Club pavilion is available for Hire for functions and is already being used by the WI; Probus; Silver Active and other local community meetings and activity groups, either during the daytime or evenings and has been used by many for family celebrations.
